Not sure how to improve on this but the pan works well to catch most (~95%) of the drippings. We like to roast a lot in the box at one time (75 pound pig, 10 chickens, 20 slabs of ribs) so we use a lot of the area, maybe more than most for the size box we have. The clean up can be a bit of a drag but that comes with the territory know as perfectly roasted meats...
